The Ultimate Guide to DIY Bathroom Cleaners

Toilet Bowl Cleaner

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ½ cup citric acid
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • 20 drops essential oil (e.g., peppermint, eucalyptus, or tea tree)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda, citric acid, and cornstarch. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Gradually add the white vinegar to the dry mixture. Be prepared for some fizzing as the citric acid reacts with the vinegar.
  3. Add 20 drops of your chosen essential oil to the mixture. Essential oils not only provide a pleasant scent but also have antimicrobial properties.
  4. Stir the mixture until it resembles a crumbly texture.
  5. Using a spoon or your hands, shape the mixture into small balls or pucks. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Allow the toilet bowl cleaner balls to dry and harden for 24 hours.

Usage:

Drop one toilet bowl cleaner puck into the toilet bowl. Let it fizz and dissolve for a few minutes. Scrub the bowl with a toilet brush and flush.
