Indian Air Force Receives its First C-295 Aircraft from Airbus in Spain
Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari was present at the momentous handover ceremony.
This aircraft marks the beginning of a 56-plane order placed by the IAF as part of a ₹21,935-crore project to modernize its transport fleet.
Airbus Defence and Space will deliver 16 aircraft in a ready-to-fly condition.
With the remaining aircraft being assembled in India at a Tata facility located in Vadodara, Gujarat.
Following its delivery, the first C-295 aircraft is expected to make its way to India soon.
Subsequently, a formal induction ceremony will take place at the Hindon airbase later this month.
